Strategic acquisition for Farrer & Co

A longstanding client of Daniel Watney, Farrer & Co, a 300-year-old firm of solicitors and advisors to the Royal Household.

Farrer & Co sought additional office space to support their continued growth. With deep historical ties to Lincoln’s Inn Fields, the search area was tightly defined to preserve their connection to the firm’s long-established home.

We conducted a targeted search within Lincoln’s Inn, identifying an off-market opportunity at Queen’s House, 55–56 Lincoln’s Inn Fields, a building held in the same family ownership since its construction in 1886 and rich in original architectural features.

Daniel Watney Partnership secured 6,329 sq ft of office space and negotiated a 10-year lease with 21 months’ rent-free—delivered through a combination of upfront and deferred incentives—alongside a £1.50 per sq ft reduction in rent. The deal resulted in total savings of £1.3 million over the lease term.
