Daniel Watney Partnership acted as planning advisers to Legal & General Investment Management on the successful conversion and extension of Brook House.

A redundant office building in Hammersmith, into a 189-room Premier Inn hotel. Located on Shepherd’s Bush Road, the scheme involved retaining and reusing the existing concrete frame, with a two-storey rooftop extension and rear addition to optimise the site’s capacity. We led the planning strategy and engagement with the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham, securing consent for a high-quality and sustainable redevelopment.

The scheme replaced underused ground-floor retail units with active frontages including a new restaurant and Costa Coffee, enhancing the pedestrian experience and contributing to the vitality of the town centre. A new façade of brickwork and metal cladding was introduced, improving the building’s architectural presence. The project demonstrates how value can be unlocked from obsolete commercial floorspace to deliver meaningful regeneration in a key location.
