Daniel Watney Partnership achieves net-zero status, reinforcing their commitment to sustainability
Daniel Watney Partnership is proud to announce that it has officially achieved Net-Zero status, marking a significant milestone in its long-standing commitment to sustainability and responsible business practice.
In 2024, total emissions stood at 169.036 tonnes CO₂e, reflecting a marginal increase of just 0.2% over two years – despite a major office refurbishment. This stability underscores the efficiency of the firm’s operations and its ability to maintain a low-emission profile even during periods of change.
“We recognise our role to play in supporting sustainability in the built environment, and are proud to have achieved Net-Zero status. We take pride in maintaining a carbon footprint that is 72% below the average company per capita – a reflection of our ongoing commitment to delivering our environmental responsibilities” said Nick Delaney, Partner and Sponsor of the firm’s Sustainability Committee.
While direct emissions remain minimal, the firm acknowledges that supplier-related emissions represent the most significant contributor to its footprint. This insight is driving a renewed focus on refining procurement practices and partnering with organisations that share its sustainability values.
Notable statistics:
- Carbon intensity per employee: 2,112.95 kgCO₂e (72% lower than average)
- Carbon intensity by revenue: 0.002 kgCO₂e (100% lower than average)
- Total footprint: 169,036 kgCO₂e
- Offset project: Agricultural, forestry & landscapes Latin America VCS certified*
*Daniel Watney Partnership offsets 175 tonnes of CO₂e annually through a reforestation initiative with Forest Carbon, supporting sustainable forestry in Latin America under the VCS standard. The project transforms former grazing land into biodiverse, managed forests – capturing carbon, preserving soil health, and creating long-lived timber products that lock in emissions for decades.
As Daniel Watney Partnership looks ahead, it remains focused on maintaining its low-emission profile and exploring new ways to reduce indirect emissions across its value chain – ensuring that sustainability remains central to its mission.
This achievement forms part of a wider commitment to ESG, which includes advancing equity, diversity and inclusion, nurturing next generation talent, and strengthening governance across the firm. These priorities are outlined in our latest Responsibilities Report, which sets out the firms approach to building a resilient and responsible business for the future.
