Planning & heritage consent for iconic Shoreditch landmark

Daniel Watney Partnership secured planning permission and Listed Building Consent for the conversion of the former Tramshed restaurant into a high-end furniture showroom at 32 Rivington Street and 6–8 Garden Walk, Shoreditch.

The Grade II listed building, originally developed on the site of a timber yard demolished circa 1905, required sensitive handling to preserve its architectural significance while enabling a new commercial use.

Our planning strategy included approval for internal refurbishment works and minor external enhancements to improve the street elevations on both Rivington Street and Garden Walk. We also secured consent to replace and consolidate rooftop plant within its existing location – ensuring minimal visual impact and compliance with heritage requirements.
