Mental Health Awareness Week

Recognising Mental Health Awareness Week at Daniel Watney!

At Daniel Watney, we're committed to fostering a healthy and supportive work environment. This week, it's Mental Health Awareness Week, and we're focusing especially on the power of movement and connection.

Why it matters: Research shows that even small amounts of physical activity can significantly improve mood and reduce stress. That's why we schedule activities throughout the week to encourage everyone to move more. We’ve let everyone know how to complete chair yoga at their desk. We have a group walk at lunchtime, which is a fantastic way to get some fresh air and sunshine (fingers crossed!) and enjoy light exercise while connecting with colleagues outside the usual work setting.

Building stronger connections: We also believe in the power of open communication and social interaction—both within our team and with our clients! Throughout the week, we have activities to build connections for staff by taking a minute or two out of their day to talk to someone at the coffee station outside their team—moving from their desk with the bonus of cake for this occasion. This focus on connection can help reduce stress and create a more positive work environment for everyone involved.

Supporting mental health together: We believe prioritising mental health awareness benefits everyone.
