Role Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Building Consultancy Graduate to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience and work towards chartership (typically via RICS APC), supporting a wide range of building surveying and consultancy projects across commercial and residential portfolios.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with building surveys, condition reports, and dilapidation assessments.
- Support with the preparation of specifications and schedules of work for refurbishment and maintenance projects.
- Contribute to project management duties including contract administration, cost control, and stakeholder liaison.
- Conduct measured surveys and prepare CAD drawings.
- Assist in the preparation of planning and building control applications.
- Provide support in undertaking feasibility studies and defect diagnostics.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and professional teams, ensuring effective communication throughout project lifecycles.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.
- Support senior surveyors and consultants with day-to-day tasks and reporting.
- Engage in ongoing CPD and actively work toward achieving RICS APC qualification.
Person Specification:
Essential:
- Degree in Building Surveying or a related discipline (RICS accredited).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
- Ability to manage time effectively and work under pressure.
- Willingness to travel to various sites as needed.
- Eagerness to learn and develop professionally.
Desirable:
- Previous placement or work experience in a surveying environment.
- Familiarity with relevant legislation (e.g., Building Regulations, Health & Safety).
